Chapter 2

She looked about her room now, just standing there being washed over with memories, many of them not all that good. Finally she came to her senses and snapped out of it, and began packing her things.

She was fortunate now that Jason insisted that she moved in, she needed somewhere different to live, a place where she didn't feel closed in and suffocated, and angry, that was the worst of all.

So now she began to put everything into boxes. Her piles and piles of books that she lost herself in to distract herself from the outside world, not to mention the music. She had probably an entire music store full of music. It was something to drown everything out, it kept her sane.

In fact that was what took up most of the space when she was packing. Clothes and other things were the last thing on her mind when she went shopping with her friend Jenna. What did you need clothes for? They eventually got old and you had to throw them out, but music and books lasted for a lifetime, especially music for her.

It didn't take her long to pack everything up after that, the furniture she'd have to have Jason move. Like her bed and her dresser, and her massive, heavy oak book and music shelf that a neighbor gave to her because they were moving. She now walked downstairs to see if there was anything that she'd forgotten, though she doubted it. Until she found her homework on the table in the kitchen.

Samantha was sick and tired of the bullying she endured at school. She'd gone through it long enough, and there was no way that she was going to endure it any more if she didn't have to. So she enlisted in off campus education. This way she could work when she was bored and get some money going, because she sure as hell wasn't going to depend on her brother or her father to financially support her for anything. She could also fill in all missing credits with work experience.

Picking up the homework, she stuffed in her pack and headed out the door, knowing she would never see the inside of it again.

In the time that Jason and Tonya were moving out, Samantha crashed in the living room with her two bags of clothes and three boxes of stuff. To her it wasn't bad at all, it was like she was camping out somewhere, except she had running water and a roof over her head that wouldn't sink in from rain or snow.

About a week later though, she was starting to want her own space, and was starting to get crabby, so to get away, she was often staying at her friend Jenna's.

Jenna was a friend of Samantha's ever since elementary school. Her parents were very well off, mainly for the fact that they were workaholics, and once Jenna was old enough to be by herself, she spent a lot of time living by herself in a large mansion, while her parents spent a lot of time working out of state, or even over seas.  This, thankfully, was also the time when it was starting to get really bad with Samantha's father, so she went over there much of the time to keep Jenna company. This is where she was the night her father got alcohol poisoning, just before she went off to work the next day.
So she showed up that night at the door step, she didn't have to  wait long because she knew that Jenna was impatiently waiting. The door flew open and Samantha was suddenly bombarded with hugs that knocked the breath out of her. Jenna was a wiry and tiny, but incredibly strong, and compared to Samantha's plain tawny brown hair and blue eyes, Jenna's hair was an ebony brown, and she had unique hazel eyes, and freckles lightly flecked across her face like icing sugar on cake.

"Sammy!" she squealed," what took you so long?"

"I had to sort everything out, since everything's everywhere in the apartment," she grumbled, walking through the door and taking off her coat.

"Oh, right, how's that going?" Jenna asked, taking her coat and hanging it up, she was the complete opposite of a normal teenager, she was a clean freak. Probably why her parents allowed her to stay home by herself, it was like having a maid in there for free.

"They almost have everything cleared out so that I can move in. I'd help but Tonya's the sort of person where she insists on doing everything herself, so I figured I'd get out of her way," Samantha grinned," works for me."

"How's your dad?"

Samantha's smile faded," still in a coma; and I hope he stays that way."

"Samantha!" Jenna chided.

"Well look at me, since he's been in there I've been a lot happier, I don't have a dark cloud hanging over me, worrying when the next beating's going to be because he decided to go over board on booze."

"That's true but-"

"Look I know it's horrible to think that way, but it's horrible of him to treat his own daughter that way. Hell he doesn't even think of me as his own daughter, he's told me that to me to my face numerous times."

When Samantha was born, she was a complete surprise to her parents, since her mom was told that she couldn't have any more kids. This was a good thing to them because she wasn't a physically strong person, and barely had Jason. Even though it was a risk for her health to have the child, her mother was against abortion no matter the reason, and would not kill that child. So they ended up having a C-section. But that was even too hard on her, and died shortly after Samantha was born. Her father never got over it, and he blamed Samantha for his wife's death ever since.

"I don't know… let's go onto something happier, I came here to get away from all that bullshit."

"Alright… umm…. Oh! I have the new Ozzy Osbourne CD! "
